Joseph's Baptism

Joseph's special day was held at Our Lady of the Angels' Princethorpe, nr Rugby. The church is located within the grounds of Princethorpe College (a co-educational independent Catholic school) and is about ½ mile west of the village of Princethorpe. The imposing bell-tower with it’s flag-pole on top can be seen for miles around.

Including children, nearly 50 of us witnessed Father Teddy conduct the service, as the little man was welcomed into the Church. The little ones were invited down to the front to get a better view of what was happening, and afterwards they were even allowed to explore the rather ornate alter.

After the service a convoy of vehicles wound their way through rural Warwickshire and back to our village local, the Shoulder of Mutton. Hosts Paul & Sheila put on a fabulous spread, and despite the sudden deluge of customers, they ensured everyone got their fill of ale and pop.

After second, third and even fifth helpings, everyone was ushered outside for a group photo (thankfully the rain stayed away at this point). After this there was only one thing left on the menu.

It was nearly 4pm when we were finally asked if we had homes to go to; most didn't so decamped back to our place around the corner. The place was packed, but the fun continued.

It was great to see so many friends and family - thankyou all for coming. And thanks to Paul Sheila and their staff for ensuring everyone was sed and watered.
