Down South

August Bank Holiday weekend, and the good weather finally arrived. It seemed an ideal chance to wreak havoc at Nanny & Grandad's house.

Family Dining

To end a holiday, there's nothing quite like a traditional Spanish meal for all the family. And this was nothing like a traditional Spanish meal. We went to an Italian restaurant....

On The Beach

The coastal town of Guardamar attracts throngs of Spanish tourists in August, mainly from Madrid. From first thing, they vie for best positions on la playa, only retreating from the heat when it's time for lunch.....folowed by a siesta.

During the holiday season, the town is alive all night too. The relative cool attracts diners out to the many restaurants. And for family fun there's a night time fun-fair too.

Sports for kids

Pinky & Perky seem to stick to stereotypes...

little girs like horses,

little boys (and big boys too) like racing cars.

Hot & Cool

After a day on the beach, in the sizzling sun.....

......what better way to cool off than an enjoyable night-time swim.

Holiday Time

What better way of getting into the holiday mood than to hit the town at night for Fiesta Time.

This one is in Quesada, and centre stage is a local singer belting out tunes to the delight of the crowd.

In the daytime, beating the heat is a priority; and we've started as we mean to continue; taking a dip in the pool.

Another holiday favourite is food, though not everbody is keen on trying the local diet...
