The Boys

We decided to stay away from the flood zone on Sunday; no point since the pub is still closed (though due to reopen this evening.)

Thomas decided he'd help his dad with Sunday dinner. Great fun was had making bread-sauce to go with the roast chicken. Not content with the the two chefs decided to rustle up a sponge pudding to complement the winter like weather. Unprompted, Thomas discovered the joys of licking the mixing spoon....

Meanwhile, Joseph continues to be Mr Chilled; rarely fussing unless miss stomach is truly empty. Today he even rustled up a smile for the camera. Either that or he was passing gas.

Rio Grand(borough)

More wet weather across the UK today and it was the turn of the Midlands to be hit by torrential rain; twice the monthy average for July fell in one day.

And most of it fell on Grandborough, where the the main streets were turned into a river, which made its way into some of the houses.

Rosie thought it would be great to put the wellies through their paces..

And even the pub couldn't escape. Now, no jokes about Paul watering down his beer please....

More end of term activities

The last day of term, and Thomas is awake before 5 a.m. getting ready for Flecknoe Nursery where he's to tread the boards again.

This time in "Goldilocks & The Three Bears" . There's a touch of stage fright (and tiredness) to start, when playing Goldilocks' dad, but he looked the part as Jack (from 'Jack & Jill went up the hill'), with his head in a bandage.

The whole cast put on a great performance and were rewarded with squash and nibbles afterwards.

The whole show was enjoyed by Daddy, Mummy & little brother Joseph.

In the afternoon there was a trip to church, for the end of term service. Various goodies were enjoyed, lollies and sweets. Thomas even received a yummy C A K E from a friends mum. He managed to contain himself and kept it until he got home.

After his plate of pasta was consumed, the cake was gone in 5 seconds....

Rosie's 5th Birthday

A great day for a little girl. The excitement was all too much, so by 05:30 Rosie was out of bed and just dying to open presents. We managed to persuade he to have another hour in bed, before finally giving in.

After breakfast we had to have a pressie session before it was time to get off to school.

And at school there just happened to be a 'beach-party'. So Rosie supplied cake for the occasion.

After school, it was off to Clown In Around in Southam for a party with friends. After a good session of climbing and jumping around all the play area, there was some party food, and games. And Aoife won both the pass the parcel and the treasure hunt!!

Everybody brought such wonderful presents, and we do hope they liked their C A K E and party bags.

End of term activities

As the end of the school year appoaches, there's no letting up in things to do. Rosie & Thomas both recently tread the boards in the School Production, which had a nautical theme - Thomas was a lobster and Rosie was a pirate.

And the following weekend was the Birdingbury Festival where a small delegation from the school entertained the crowds with some maypole dancing.

Lots of pictures of both occasions can be found on our Picasa Web Album
