Last trips out

We saved the bast till last and travelled down to Lake Windemere to visited the World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness. The kids were treated to their very own set of Peter Rabbit ears, and the displays were out of this world.

In the afternoon, we headed out for a country walk, al booted and wrapped up against the elements. It was shortly after this photo that Lucy stumbled getting off a style, causing significant trauma to her wrist, and finishing the holiday off with a big OUCH!!

Trotters World of Animals

Not far from where we were staying was Trotters World Of Animals which provided another great day out.

Here Rosie got as close as she ever has to a chicken this side of a Sunday dinner

Whilst Thomas was at one with the other primates.

All in all it was a very exhausting day out....

Out & About in the Lakes

The first couple of days were spent exploring around Keswick, and further afield out to Maryport.

It was in Maryport that we had a great time in an aquarium, outside of which we found an adventure playground. Here pinky and perky ran their socks off on a fabulous ship-styled climbing frame.

Off To The Lakes

Our journey to Thorntwaite, nr Keswick, was rather slow, due to the M6 being closed near Stoke - it took 7½ hrs to do 220 miles.

However, we settled into our little cottage, which was snug and warm, and awoke on Sunday to the wonderful view of snow capped mountains.

This called for a walk, so boots were pulled on, coats done up, scarves wrapped, hats and gloves donned. And off we yomped. Up the hill past our cottage....

Then carried on into the forest

Before meandering back to the edge of the village to take in the view

Showing off his Police uniform, Thomas relives the good old days of Dixon....

Whirly Twirly Racket

This annoyingly noisy toy kept Rosie enthralled when she was a babe. Then it entertained Thomas in his early days. Now all three of them seem to enjoy the excruciating racket. Aaargh.

Mother's Day

Brekky in bed - with prezzies.

A lovely church service, then a wonderful Chinese buffet.

What more could a mum ask for. Well, a lie in would be nice.....
