A Fluffy Weekend

It's Joseph's weekend with Fluff, the reception year teddy from Leamington Hastings School. And since saturday is a mad, mad busy day Chez O'Reilly, there was no rest for the little fella.

First stop, Southam Leasuire Centre for swimming lessons....

Joseph has been doing so well, that he got moved up a group - next time he'll be wearing his new orange cap.

Moving swiftly on we went to the barber shop in Southam where Joseph had a USMC style crew cut. Luckily, Fluff's fluff remained untouched.

Next stop, the library where we used one of those computer thingies to check books out and in. What ever happened to librarians??

And to finish off the morning what better than a spot of lunch outdoors. And what better still than fish & chips.

Sunday morning was very easy-going with a late breakfast of pancakes made by Rosie, followed by some phonics practice for Joseph. Then it was into our best clothes and off to Krista's party, where we had fun, good food and...

Happy Campers

Daddy & the Three Terrors head off afar to deepest Napton for an evening under canvas with the Happy Campers of Birdingbury. This was a Dad & Kids only event, and as a result, required childcare methods that would have made Maria Montessori proud.

A diet of salty crisps, fluorescent sweets, brightly coloured pop, sugary marshmallows and greasy fish & chips kept energy levels up. Fathering such a crowd was thirsty work too, and we are greatly indebted to the founding fathers of Diagio, InBev, Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma & vintners worldwide for sustaining us into the early hours.

Oh and Fluff had to make a complete ar*e of himself.... can't take his ale, that one.

Fluff's Blog

Friday 4th May 2007.

Once again, I went to visit Rosie (see past posts). The occasion this time was to visit her new brother. His name is Joseph, and he has already got a lot of lovely presents and cards.

Saturday 5th May 2007.

Saturday saw the inevitable trip in Daddy's car to the swimming pool for Rosie's weekly lesson.

After lunch it was off to Clown In' Around for Freya's birthday party. I followed Rosie everywhere; climbing to the highest highs, and flying down the slides too. It was great fun. Freya had lots of presents and everyone got a lovely party bag when they went home.

And later in the afternoon we saddled up and went for a bike ride all around Grandborough. Of course I made sure I wore a crash helmet, as did Rosie & Thomas.

Sunday 6th May 2007.

After a nice breakfast, I joined Rosie and her Daddy on a trip to church. I even got a blessing off the Priest.

In the afternoon there was a barbeque on the green outside of Rosie's house. I was afraid the smoke might get into my fur so I stayed inside and watched everyone through the window.

Monday 7th May 2007.

We had a great big breakfast of pancakes, which Rosie and her dad made. I then spent some time with Rosie's new brother, Joseph.

He is only 12 days old. He wakes up in the night and Rosie's mummy or daddy have to feed him. Luckily he isn't too noisy, so he didn't wake me up.

Rosie took her Grandma out for lunch. And afterwards I helped them both with Rosie's reading practice.

In the afternoon I played with Rosie and her brother Thomas, andwe had an early night, ready for School the next morning.

What a fun weekend!

Fluff Weekend #2

Sunday was a little bit quieter.

Rosie, Daddy & Fluff went ot church first thing; Fluff was so impressed by the tall tower at Princethorpe that he had to have is photo taken outside. Howeer, the tower was too tall to fit it all in.

We had lunch in the village pub, The Shoulder of Mutton. It's just been taken over by a family who moved from close-by in Rugby. Paul the landlord is a chef of some 25 years experience. With trying to get a new business onto it's feet he's kept the Sunday menu simple, just 5 dishes on each of the starter, main & dessert menus. The food was superb; the rib of beef melted in your mouth, the salmon exquisite, and the veg still al dente. Oh, and dessert was scrummy too.

In the afternnon, Fluff helped with Rosie's homework - including the counting game from school. Then we wrote up Fluff's diary.

Fluff Weekend #1

A special treat this week-end; Rosie got to take Fluff home. Fluff is the school Teddy, and if the children are good they all get a turn to look after Fluff for a whole weekend.

Saturday was very busy ! After a huge breakfast of pancakes, sausages & maple syrup, Rosie went off to her ususal swimming lesson - with Daddy providing the taxi service.

But the high-point of the day was not one but two parties. At 1.00pm was the Grandborough village party - a kind of belated Christmas bash. After lashing of yummy party food we were entertained by a magician. And Rosie & Thomas even got close to his bunny rabbit.

No sooner had that finished when we all bundled into the car to head off to Clowning Around (a play-barn) for a friends birthday bash - phew. No wonder bed-time came early.
